Options for Make-up Credit

Roy Junior High recommends that 9th grade students make up loss/failed credit before they transition to high school. There are different ways that students can make-up credits:

*GRADPATH/APEX
      ·         GradPath is an online program for credit make-up for English, Science, Math, or History              through directed study.

      ·         Courses can be partially completed at school. However, the student will also need to work
on GradPath courses at HOME.  (Computer use is available at school through the computer
lab or with Mrs. Titus, if there is no internet access at home.)
      ·         To sign up for GradPath, pick up a form in the student center and pay $35 per class.
      ·         There is a 30-day time limit to complete each course. Courses are to be completed                independently by the student; questions can be addressed with the make-up teacher.
*CREDIT RECOVERY

·         If a student fails a class within 15%, the teacher will give the student an opportunity to make up that percentage and receive credit.
·         The student must pay $30, get a form from a counselor and take it to the teacher no later than two (2) weeks after receiving the final grade. This can be done for any subject that the student failed as long as it was within the 15%.

*TRAMS
·         TRAMS is a make-up program offered at Two Rivers High School for English, History, and Science. Students are issued a book and must pass a competency test to gain credit.
      ·         Students must attend weekly appointments until the credit is earned.
      ·         Registration for TRAMS is on Mondays from 3:30-5:30 PM at Two Rivers High School (955 West 12th Street, Ogden). Students must be present to register. Bring student ID, payment ($35 per quarter credit), current transcript, and referral form (available from student’s counselor).

*NORTHRIDGE LEARNING CENTER

·         Northridge Learning center offers credit make-up through packet completion.
      ·         Make-up for over 20 courses is offered through NLC. Visit their website for a full list: www.northridgelearningcenter.com.
      ·         Northridge Learning Center has locations in Layton (2405 North Hill Field Road), Brigham City, Salt Lake City, and South Jordan.
      ·         You can register in person or online.
